Boxed set of six (6) note cards - Matson Lines Menu Covers by Frank MacIntosh printed on Note Cards.
Frank MacIntosh (1901-1985) was born in Portland, Oregon. He moved to San Francisco to study art, where he graduated from the California School of Fine Arts. MacIntosh established himself as an illustrator, designing numerous Art Deco style covers for Asia magazine. In the 1930s, MacIntosh was commissioned by the Ocean Shipping Company (aka Matson Lines) to produce several menu covers for their Hawai’i-bound routes to illustrate the romantic appeal of Hawai’i travel. His vividly stylized images remain an iconic symbol of Hawai’i from that era. We have compiled these images into a set of six note cards ... not better way to say "Aloha ... Welcome to Hawai'i."
The note cards are blank inside so you can write whatever greeting comes to mind. These are printed by us and are A2 size ... 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".
